I cant say any bad things about The Shannon. I have been coming to The Shannon since I turned 21. It was the first bar I ever went to once I turned 21 and I was hooked. As I started getting close to Jenny, Mikey, Kendra, Sabrina, James, Pat and the regulars I kept feeling like a family. The Shannon is family and I have never felt more at home or that I belonged than at The Shannon. The drinks are fairly priced and delicious, the variety of music is great, they have games in an open layout in the back of the bar which is a great idea for a group outing. It is just a great bar overall. Thank you to The Shannon for all the great memories and future memories to come. I hope to one day bring my future children here once they are legal! Haha
It was a great experience. A perfect dive bar with all the fun games in it. The choice of beer is also good and the bartender is very kind. Definitely recommended, you surely have a great time in the bar. But do go with someone because all the games are meant to be atleast for 2 people. If not you will just watch whole others play.

Came here on our bar hopping journey. Vibes are high and the music was hit’n. The drinks were great & strong and the bartender was amazing! Definitely adding this place to our bar hopping list.
No food here hence the one star for food. Other than that, can't say enough good things about the place. Ultimately the quality of a bar comes down to one thing, the staff. All these guys and gals behind the bar are great, never really have to wait for a drink, they're very amiable and fun to chat with. I've found the door staff to be courteous. Some of the bar ladies can be a bit feisty so I would recommend against giving them too much sass. Open pool table in front and bar games in the back, the people in here are very good so your game better be on point. Dog friendly so bring some bacon for Oreo. I'm an older curmudgeonly type so I leave before it turns into the nightclub scene so won't comment how it is after the seats get taken away which is always done with a please and a thank you from the door staff.
I had my birthday party here and it was an absolute blast! I worked with Patrick, who was fantastic, super informative, responsive, and made sure everything ran smoothly so everyone had a great time. We had the party in the back room, which was perfect for a fun, laid-back vibe. They had giant Jenga, Connect Four, pool, cornhole, and even set up beer pong for us. The bartenders were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the open bar was both affordable and well-stocked with quality drinks. Overall, such a great spot to celebrate! Highly recommend it for your next birthday or group event.
Best buffalo bills bars in town! We Watched the wild card game there and that place put on a party. Everyone got free pizza and wings at halftime. Staff is super friendly and I will go again for drinks food and watch football. It’s very close to the path and Washington blvd.
HOBOKEN: The Shannon is well-known for being a dog friendly bar and popular with locals, so we knew we had to visit after receiving recommendations from a bunch of people. If you had any question that this place is an Irish pub, you will receive the answer with a big Irish and Jameson flag draped proudly as you enter the bar. In addition to their Irish heritage, The Shannon is also a great sports bar and dance club. We love that leashed and friendly dogs are allowed, but only before the night life begins, so get there when they open to enjoy a drink from their full bar, play pool, watch the game, bring your own food, and meet some super cool people. There is a space up front with one bar and a back room with another bar, so plenty of space to enjoy some dog friendly fun! We love that there were a few other dogs enjoying New Years celebrations and it makes us happy that they all met at a local dog park. The staff is great and always checking-in. We heard Sundays are great to bring your dog as it is like an impromptu Yappy Hour! Everything is more fun with fido!
